About the Role

Austin Dean Recruitment is proud to partner with Hackney Council to recruit experienced and passionate Social Workers for the Children and Families Service. This is an interim position with the potential for ongoing work, offering you the opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of children and families across Hackney.

You will be part of a team committed to providing a high-quality, effective social work service that meets statutory duties and promotes positive outcomes for children and their families. The role focuses on assessment, planning, intervention, safeguarding, and partnership working within a strengths-based, relationship-focused framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver timely and effective social work interventions to safeguard children and support families.
• Conduct holistic assessments to identify needs, risks, and protective factors.
• Develop and implement child-centred care and protection plans.
• Work in partnership with children, families, and multi-agency professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
• Maintain accurate, high-quality records in line with statutory and local performance requirements.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, equality, and diversity frameworks.

Requirements

• Recognised Social Work qualification.
• Social Work England registration (mandatory).
• Experience in Children’s Social Care, preferably within statutory settings.
• Knowledge of the Children Act 1989, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and London Child Protection Procedures.
• Strong analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.
• Enhanced DBS required.
