About the Role

Austin Dean Recruitment is proud to represent a leading independent educational institution in the search for a Futures Programme Lead to cover a period of parental leave.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative and driven professional to lead an ambitious careers and employability programme that inspires young people to make a meaningful impact in the world beyond school.

While this is a non-teaching role, you will play a pivotal part in preparing pupils for their next steps whether in higher education, apprenticeships, or entrepreneurial ventures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of an innovative entrepreneurship and employability programme.
  • Support pupils with career planning, CVs, applications, and impartial guidance.
  • Coordinate work experience and internship opportunities, maintaining accurate participation records.
  • Organise engaging career fairs, industry visits, and networking events.
  • Develop partnerships with employers, alumni, and industry professionals to expand opportunities.
  • Provide expert insights into labour market trends and post-18 pathways.
  • Promote diversity, inclusion, and ambition across all initiatives and programmes.

About You

You’ll be a confident communicator with a proactive, positive approach and a genuine enthusiasm for helping young people succeed.

Essential:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven experience managing events or complex projects.
  • Organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong understanding of careers guidance, employability, or youth development.
  • A collaborative approach to working with both internal and external stakeholders.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of UK careers education or apprenticeship pathways.
  • Understanding of entrepreneurship or business development.
  • Experience building and managing partnerships with employers or professional networks.
