Austin Dean Recruitment is seeking dedicated and experienced Locum Social Workers to join our clients Children in Care teams. We are looking for professionals with a strong background in children’s social work, excellent case management skills, and a deep commitment to supporting children and young people in care. You will be working closely with children, foster carers, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for looked after children. We have ongoing sessions to suit your work-life balance!

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of children and young people in care, ensuring each child receives the appropriate level of care and support.
  • Conduct regular assessments to monitor the progress and well-being of children in care.
  • Develop, implement, and review care plans in collaboration with children, foster carers, and other professionals.
  • Provide emotional and practical support to children and young people in care, helping them achieve stability and success.
  • Advocate for the rights and needs of children in care, ensuring their voices are heard and considered in all decisions.
  • Facilitate access to essential resources and services, such as education, healthcare, and extracurricular activities.
  • Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns, ensuring the safety and well-being of children in care.
  • Adhere to local safeguarding procedures and policies.
  • Promptly report and document any concerns or incidents with accuracy.

Requirements:

  • At least 12 months previous experience in a similar role
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work (BSW or MSW) from an accredited institution.
  • Registration with Social Work England.
