Position: Permanent Radiologist
Location: Swindon
Salary: £105k to £139k (Depending on Exp),

We are seeking a dedicated, highly motivated Radiologist to join our client’s welcoming and collaborative team. The role covers subspecialty areas such as Chest & Cardiac, Neuroradiology, Head & Neck, and Breast, with a requirement for non-vascular intervention experience. Each member of the medical team within the Directorate is accountable to the Lead Clinician and, ultimately, to the Associate Medical Director, who oversees all Directorate services. Consultants play a critical role within the team, leading improvements to enhance the patient experience.
The Diagnostic and Outpatient Department serves a diverse community of approximately 350,000 people, completing over 220,000 examinations annually. Fully digital and equipped with a state-of-the-art PACS system, the department offers voice recognition reporting and double-screen PACS monitors in each office, providing dedicated PCs with full internet access.
The department’s advanced imaging equipment includes:
- Three 128-slice CT scanners
- Two 1.5 T MRI scanners
- Two DR general rooms
- Five CR general rooms
- Two interventional screening rooms
- Four general ultrasound rooms
- Four maternity ultrasound units
- A vascular ultrasound lab
- A brand-new SPECT CT scanner
- A DEXA scanner
The hospital also hosts a specialised breast unit, delivering integrated outpatient breast services and managing the breast screening program for Swindon, North, and West Wiltshire. The unit includes two static Hologic Dimensions mammography machines with vacuum-assisted biopsy (VAB) capability, two ultrasound rooms, and two mobile screening units.
Requirements:
- Full registration with the GMC
- Inclusion on the Specialist Register for Radiology or within six months of achieving CCT at the time of the interview
- FRCR (UK) or equivalent certification
- Compliance with the National Terms and Conditions of Service for Hospital Medical and Dental Staff (England and Wales) and applicable Conditions of Service from the General Whitley Council for Health Services (Great Britain)
- This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, requiring disclosure of all convictions, including those considered “spent.”
- Full GMC registration, CCST (or equivalent for non-UK applicants), and accreditation on the GMC Specialist Register in the relevant specialty.
- Clinical training/experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCT
- Expertise in full range of radiological imaging
- Ability to lead a multi-professional team and take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patient
