Austin Dean Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Lawyer to join a busy and highly regarded legal team within a large public sector organisation in East London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified legal professional to manage a varied caseload, provide high-quality legal advice and represent a public sector organisation across a range of legal matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of both routine and complex legal matters with minimal supervision.
• Provide clear, practical and accurate legal advice to internal stakeholders.
• Draft legal documents, reports, agreements and correspondence.
• Conduct legal research and present complex legal arguments.
• Undertake advocacy where appropriate in courts, tribunals and hearings.
• Attend committee meetings, working groups and stakeholder meetings.
• Support clients in achieving strategic and operational objectives.
• Ensure compliance with legal practice standards and case management procedures.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of legal services.

• Planning Law

• Children’s Services

• Licensing
• Local Government Law
• Regeneration
• Environmental Law

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEX).
• Experience managing a legal caseload independently.
• Strong advocacy, negotiation and drafting skills.
• Ability to provide high-quality legal advice to a diverse client base.
• Experience working within a local authority or public sector environment is desirable.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient in legal case management systems and Microsoft Office.
