About the Role
Austin Dean Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a progressive Local Authority to appoint an Interim Head of Health, Care & Neighbourhood Coordination—a key leadership role driving transformation across integrated health and social care systems.
This is a critical interim assignment, leading the coordination and delivery of a new Community & Neighbourhood Model, with a strong focus on prevention, early intervention, and system integration across the Council, ICB, and VCSE sectors.
You will operate within a highly complex environment, working closely with senior stakeholders to deliver impactful change and improved outcomes for communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and delivery of integrated neighbourhood models across health and social care
- Drive prevention and early intervention strategies to reduce demand on acute services
- Work in partnership with ICB, VCSE, and statutory organisations to deliver shared priorities
- Support delivery of outcomes from the Better Care Fund (BCF) 2025/26 Review
- Lead coordination around BCF disaggregation across new unitary structures and ICB footprint
- Provide oversight to Continuing Healthcare (CHC) programmes and working groups
- Ensure alignment with strategic, political, and financial priorities
- Represent the organisation at senior-level boards and partnership meetings
- Drive transformation, service improvement, and innovation across the system
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role within health, social care, or integrated systems
- Strong understanding of ICB frameworks, Better Care Fund, and partnership working
- Experience leading complex transformation programmes
- Ability to influence at Executive and Board level
- Strong strategic, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Resilient, proactive, and able to operate independently in high-pressure environments
